Living in Savannah, GA at the time of hurricane Matthew, October of 2016, I was able to see and capture some of the devastation left in its wake. If you know Savannah, you know not only how beautiful its mossy oaks are, but how vital they are to the city's character. To see them blown over like a house of cards and crashed into Savannah's equally characteristic historic buildings and monuments was bewildering. The experience left me feeling heartbroken, humbled, awestruck, and reverential. This series aims to express these feelings between beauty and disaster.
